Our Practice

All road blocks are significant. LLMHC addresses a multitude of mental and emotional concerns through individualized and experienced outpatient psychological care. Though our time will typically be in individual sessions; external supports are utilized and encouraged in a variety of ways to help create a healthy lifestyle.

Our Treatment Focus

You! Whether you call it, core values, spirit, gut, or instincts; helping you grow your light to increase independent coping and confidence is what I am here for. Our time together will be spent creating a YOU that you can trust and find peace in and sharing that being with the world.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Therapy is a preferred tool of mine though its not a requirement. I will help you get to know this format and you and I will move forward with what's best for you. Questions are strongly encouraged!

Our Therapy

Identity

Often the burdens we carry and the distress we experience are connected to aspects of our identity. I have found that having honest and supportive conversations about race, sex, gender, (dis)ability, etc help give a voice to pieces of us that we need to understand to find peace. Sometimes these conversations are very tender and might highlight a difference between us, sometimes an assumed similarity. It is my intention to make space for the fullness of your lived experience whether or not it is the same as mine. We will grow from where we are the same and where we are different at your comfort and speed.

Depression & Anxiety

Though they are among the most commonly occurring mental health concerns, depression and anxiety can leave one feeling isolated, lonely, and overwhelmed. Counseling provides a space to master safe coping and heal from the stigma associated with mental illness to increase self-care that can and build healthy support. And we will celebrate the successes along the way because there are times where getting out of the bed and leaving the house are great victories.

Trauma & PTSD

Traumatic experiences can leave us with a variety of symptoms that affect our perception of ourselves as well as the world around us. Counseling around trauma does not mean having to talk about specific details but will focus on understanding its affect and increasing healthy supports and coping to find strength and regain a much deserved sense of safety and control.

Life transitions

Life is complex and there are times where counseling is beneficial to help work through changes in employment, marital status or even preparing for a child. Exploring your strengths and needs in a safe space can help you move through turmoil and enable you to look back on these times and see your resilience to prepare for future milestones.
